Mr Almeyda is a Consultant ENT Surgeon at the Royal Berkshire Hospital.
He relocated from Oxford where he was an established Rhinology Consultant at Oxford University Hospitals Foundation Trust.
He qualified from St Bartholomew’s Medical College in 1997, having completed an intercalated BSc in cellular pathology in 1994. His SHO training was in London, during which time he secured a research fellow post at St Mary’s Hospital, Paddington. During this time, he was awarded an MSc in Surgical Sciences and a Diploma of Imperial College (DIC) for his research in nasal airflow dynamics. His specialist ENT training was within the Oxford Deanery and culminated in Rhinology fellowships in The Royal National Throat, Nose and Ear Hospital, London and The Academic Medical Centre, Amsterdam. These fellowships allowed him to train in advanced endoscopic sinus surgery techniques as well as revision rhinoplasty and reconstruction of the nose and ear following cancer resection.
He was appointed as Consultant ENT Surgeon with an interest in Rhinology to Oxford University Hospitals Foundation Trust in 2012 undertaking research in Nasal polyposis and early Parkinson’s disease detection through olfactory sampling. He now continues this research practice at The Royal Berkshire Hospital.
